FAQ

-When should the photo shoot be scheduled?

We recommend scheduling at least 48 hours in advance.  We cannot guarantee that we can fulfill requests made with less than 48 hour notice.   It is always best to schedule the photo shoot a few days before the property goes into the MLS.  By doing so, you will likely have the photos processed and ready for the KAAR MLS at the time the property is entered.

-What is the reschedule policy?

Due to the type of photography services offered, there will be times when a shoot needs to be rescheduled.  Rescheduling requests made by the customer with less than 24 hour notice of the appointment time may be subject to a rescheduling fee.  In the event of inclement weather or the forecast of less than ideal shooting conditions, we will offer an alternate appointment time at no charge to the customer.

-How much time will a photo shoot take?

It will take approximately an hour and a half to shoot a 3,000 square foot home.  For a larger or smaller home, you can expect that time to increase or decrease accordingly by about 45 minutes for every 2,000 square feet.  If twilight shots are requested, these will typically be taken at a separate shooting and will require approximately one hour onsite.

-How should the property be prepared for the photo shoot?

The property should look how you would want it to look if it were going to be shown to a prospective buyer.  When an appointment is scheduled the customer will receive by email a checklist to help ensure the property is at its best when photographed.  If necessary while shooting, we may move small objects or furniture that may be distracting in the frame of the shot.  All items moved will be moved back.

-What photos will be shot?

Our goal at the shoot is to provide quality photos that include a front exterior, back exterior and all the major rooms such as living room, dining room, family room, kitchen, master bedroom, master bath and bedrooms.  Small bathrooms, utility rooms and garages are not a shooting priority unless we are given specific instructions otherwise.  We shoot rooms and spaces from multiple angles to try to get that “perfect shot” that represents the room/space to its fullest.   We will use our discretion as to which photographs to process to fill the order of photographs requested.  Because every house is different, once we begin shooting we may find that we need slightly more or less photos than originally requested in order to best showcase the property.  We will notify the customer and discuss the final number of photos recommended to keep in line with the customer’s marketing needs and budget.

-How long does it take to receive the photographs?

The customer can expect to receive the final photographs within 24 – 48 hours.   For every hour of photographing onsite, we will spend an additional 4-5 hours in post-processing to create the final images .  If it is going to take longer than 48 hours to process the images, the customer will be notified by phone or email.   Once the photographs have been created, the customer will be able to review and approve the images prior to purchase.  Once payment has been received, the photographs will be available for download or you may request to receive them on a disc.  Once payment has been received, the customer will receive by email a link to download the images.  If images are requested to be placed on a disc, arrangements will be made to deliver the disc to the customer.

-When and how do I pay?

Once you have approved your photographs, you will receive an invoice by email.  We accept checks and money orders or you may use PayPal to make a credit card payment.  If you would like to use the convenience of PayPal, simply request that we email you instructions to pay with PayPal.

-What photographs will I receive?

You will receive the images formatted for the new FLEX KAAR MLS as well as for print materials.  Custom resizing is available upon request and at no additional charge provided the request is made before final delivery.

-Do you charge sales tax?

According to Tennessee Code Section 67-6-102, we are not required to charge sales tax if the pictures are downloaded from our website or via the link provided to the customer.  However, if you prefer to have the photos on a disc, we must charge 9.25% sales tax on your total order.

-Do I have copyrights to the photos?

If photographs are for residential/commercial real estate purposes:

All photos produced for the customer may be used by that customer for all marketing associated with the current sale of the property in accordance with local MLS rules. Please note that the photos will be copyrighted by Knoxville Real Estate Photography and a license will be granted only to the customer, NOT to any third party. Any usage of the photos by a third party, including but not limited to architects, builders, stagers, designers, sellers or buyers is prohibited unless approved in writing by  Knoxville Real Estate Photography.
